Mayor of Obninsk, Kaluga region Tatyana Leonova, after the tragedy with children on the Protva River, turned to her parents. The head of the science city of Kaluga asked adults to talk to children and do everything to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
“Be sure to tell the children: it is extremely dangerous to go out on the ice of the reservoirs in the spring. Do not test the strength of the ice, take care of your life,” Leonova said.
She also expressed her condolences to the parents of the deceased children.
“The bodies of Artyom and Aslidin, who drowned in Protva, have been found. I express my condolences to parents and loved ones. The grief is unbearable,” the mayor wrote on social media.
As previously reported, five teenagers fell through the ice on Protva in Obninsk. Two drowned. Divers have been searching for their bodies since Saturday evening. The three children who survived are hospitalized.
