The Russian was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in the Seychelles. Her child died in the heat in a locked car

A Russian citizen has been sentenced by a Seychellois court to 2.5 years in prison for the death of his son, left in the car in the sun. This confirmed to the TASS agency, an employee of the consular service of the Russian Embassy in Seychelles.

The couple, who arrived from Moscow, had planned to relax for two weeks on the island of MahĂ©. On January 21, the whole family went to the gym. The parents decided to leave their one and a half year old son in the car, despite the intense heat – that day it was 30 degrees. Later, the parents told police they were relying on the air conditioner, which had been left on in the cabin.

When the child’s mother approached the car, the boy showed no further signs of life. The woman ran to the gymnasium for the administration to call the doctors, but the boy could not be saved. The examination showed that the cause of death was hyperthermia, as well as swelling of the brain and lungs.

The Seychelles court recognized the child’s death as violent, the boy’s father was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. His mother still remains in MahĂ© – the investigation agreed to let her free. The couple have two passports – Russian and Ukrainian, they received citizenship of the Russian Federation in 2021.
