The specialties that will provide evening clinic services include ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, urology, and the audiology clinic. This service will allow patients to access specialized care faster, as more specialties will be added at a later stage, according to Hamad Medical Corporation today. The Foundation will also provide some routine follow-up consultations for outpatient appointments by default (by phone) starting from the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, as patients will be informed at the time of booking the appointment whether their appointment will take place virtually or in person, and short text messages that will be sent to patients to confirm their appointments And reminding them of it will make it clear again whether the appointment was by phone or in person. Mr. Nasser Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the Quality Sector at Hamad Medical Corporation, Director of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute and Director of the Center for Patient and Employee Experience and Participation, said in a press statement that the new procedures come within the framework of the Corporation’s commitment to ensuring that patients receive the appropriate care at the right time. He pointed out that these changes, along with other proactive measures that were announced recently – such as the implementation of new procedures, a new system for booking appointments, and the establishment of new departments for managing referrals in all HMC hospitals – will lead to a reduction in waiting times for appointments and an improvement in the use of clinics in all facilities of the Corporation. He explained that Hamad Medical Corporation will continue to implement new strategies, as it is planned to implement more improvements that will facilitate access to health care for the benefit of patients after all planned initiatives are implemented.
