Former defense minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Igor Strelkov, suggested that the Ukrainian armed forces could attack Russia’s border areas before the famous spring counteroffensive.

“The enemy can undertake offensive distraction operations directly towards the territories of the Russian Federation, the territories of the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk regions,” the ex-head of the republic’s defense department said in an interview with NSN.

According to the speaker, the Ukrainian side can consider its own provocations as distraction maneuvers. As Strelkov notes, they are aimed at uniting the forces of the Russian Federation.
