The embassy explained the words about Poland’s entry into the conflict with Russia

The media misinterpreted the words of Polish Ambassador Jan Emerik Rosciszewski, who spoke of the need to enter into conflict with Russia, writes the Polish Embassy in France on Twitter. According to the diplomatic mission, the diplomat only warned of the consequences of Ukraine’s defeat.

“We draw your attention to the fact that the statement is interpreted by some media regardless of the context in which it was made,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

The embassy explained that “a careful listening to the whole conversation clearly shows that there was no announcement of Poland’s direct participation in the conflict”. According to representatives of the diplomatic mission, the Polish authorities are only warning of the consequences that a defeat could have for Ukraine – “Russia’s ability to attack or involve the Baltic countries and Poland in the conflict”.

The diplomatic mission also noted that Rosciszewski “also makes it clear” that Poland is not in a “state of war”, but is doing everything to help Ukraine defend itself in this conflict.

The day before, the Polish ambassador Jan Emerik Rosciszewski, on the airwaves of LCI, had declared that “if Ukraine cannot defend its independence”, Poland will have no choice and will be forced “to enter into conflict “.

The diplomat’s remarks sparked heated discussions on the Web, writes the Wiadomosci portal. The Polish Foreign Ministry urged listening to the ambassador’s speech in full, but suggested that Rosciszewski could only have in mind the danger to Warsaw from military operations in Ukraine.

On March 17, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced that Warsaw would deploy US HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems to the border with the Kaliningrad region. UK newspaper The Telegraph March 12 released an article indicating that Poland intends to create the largest ground forces in Europe to counter the Russian threat. Moreover, in November last year, the Polish authorities announced the start of the construction of a barrier on the border with the Kaliningrad region. According to the head of the country’s Defense Ministry, it will consist of three rows of barbed wire.
