The Polish Embassy in Paris justified itself for the words of the head of the diplomatic mission in the country, Jan Emerik Rosciszewski, who said that Warsaw was ready for a conflict with Russia. They reported that this statement was misinterpreted by the public and the media, writes TASS.
The diplomatic mission noted that the ambassador’s sentence had simply been taken out of context.
“A careful listening to the whole conversation clearly shows that there was no statement about Poland’s direct participation in the conflict, but only a warning about the consequences of Ukraine’s defeat: about the possibility that Russia attack or drag into war the next countries of Central Europe – the Baltic (states) and Poland”, – said diplomats.
According to them, in other fragments of his speech, Rosciszewski says the opposite: Poland is currently not at war with anyone. However, it aims to do whatever is necessary for Ukraine to have the opportunity to defend itself.
Earlier, the words of the Polish Ambassador to France were commented on by the deputy of the Crimean State Duma Mikhail Sheremet. He advised Warsaw not to play with fire by making such statements.
