On the evening of March 20, the town of Dzhankoy in northern Crimea was attacked by drones. Head of the Republic Sergei Aksenov informed that the air defense worked in the urban area, the wreckage damaged the house and the store, there is one casualty.

According to the head of the Dzhankoy administration, Igor Ivin, a private house on Yuzhnaya Street was damaged, but no one was injured.

“In the city center, next to the seventh school, a grocery store caught fire. There is damage to the power grid, no more”, – estimate his “Crimea 24”.

According to the head of administration, a 33-year-old man was injured, he was taken to hospital with a shrapnel wound. Ivin said there was no threat to the life and health of the victim.

“UAV debris was found in two streets,” he added.

Later, the adviser to the head of Crimea, Oleg Kryuchkov, clarified that a drone was shot down at the technical school in Dzhankoy and fell between the university building and the hostel.

“There are no military installations nearby. The rest are shot over residential areas. In addition to explosives, each contained shrapnel – they wanted revenge on the Crimeans for their choice,” he wrote.

Kryuchkov also called “wet fantasies” Ukrainian military intelligence data on the results of the Dzhankoy attack. According to him, the railway and the infrastructures are not damaged, the trains follow the schedule.

Furthermore, the adviser to the head of the republic published in the telegram channel photos of the propeller blades of the drone. According to Kryuchkov, this drone attacked the technical school in Dzhankoy.

Since the start of hostilities in Ukraine, drones have repeatedly attacked Crimea and Sevastopol. In August 2022, an ammunition depot exploded 20 km from Dzhankoy. The explosions continued for several hours. Initially, the Russian Defense Ministry said that a fire occurred “on the territory of a protected area for temporary storage of ammunition in a military unit”, as a result, the stored ammunition exploded. The department later said the fire and explosions were the result of sabotage.
