Volkswagen assets in Russia arrested in GAZ lawsuit

The arbitration court of the Nizhny Novgorod region has decided to freeze Volkswagen’s assets in Russia at the request of GAZ. The company is demanding recovery in the amount of more than 15.5 billion rubles, according to court documents.

The car plant would demand that the termination of the agreement on contract assembly in Nizhny Novgorod be declared invalid. In total, they want to recover 15,574,846,000 rubles from the defendants.

“The arbitration court of the Nizhny Novgorod region has decided: to satisfy the request of the limited liability company of the GAZ automobile plant to take interim measures,” the court said.

The arbitration court of the Nizhny Novgorod region decided to seize the property controlled by the company.

Earlier it was reported that Volkswagen factories have stopped working in Europe. This decision was made due to a lack of details.
