Al-Wakra Municipality, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of France to the State of Qatar, with the participation of about 80 volunteers from the French community and students of the Shafallah Center, organized a campaign to clean Al-Wakra public beach and a visit to Al-Wakra sustainable walkway for people with special needs. The implementation of this joint campaign comes within the framework of supporting the “Al Wakra on the Road to Carbon Neutral” initiative, which coincides with the Environmental Sustainability Week, and raising awareness among various segments of society of the importance of preserving the marine environment and the cultural and aesthetic appearance of beaches, as well as supporting volunteer work and sustainability initiatives.
It should be noted that this event coincides with the passage of about a year since the opening of the sustainable Al-Wakra sea walkway, which extends over a distance of 85 meters. environmentally friendly sustainable development and the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
