Licensing a new batch of Qatari real estate brokers

A new batch of licensed Qatari real estate brokers took the legal oath before the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee at the Ministry of Justice. The batch included 37 brokers between individuals and real estate brokerage companies, which raises the number of licensed brokers since the start of the new law, to more than 619 Qatari real estate brokers licensed and registered with the Real Estate Brokerage Department. The license for this batch comes since the Ministry of Justice started activating Law No. (22) of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage work, within the framework of the executive procedures for the provisions of the law, and pushing real estate brokerage work towards an organized legal environment prepared to keep pace with the economic and urban renaissance that the country is witnessing and the significant expansion in the real estate sector. With the necessitated reformatting and organization of the real estate system to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. Mr. Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs and Chairman of the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee, welcomed the new batch of licensed brokers, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to advance the profession Real estate brokerage, where His Excellency Mr. Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri, Minister of Justice, pays special attention to the development of legal professions in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, and among these professions is real estate brokerage because of its results directly related to the national development process, in which the real estate sector is one of its main pillars. Al-Suwaidi stressed the necessity of dealing with licensed brokers, due to the importance of protecting the rights of the various parties, warning against dealing with unlicensed brokers after the expiration of the period for reconciling the situation, and starting to activate the real estate mediation law, noting the need to adopt the contract forms for real estate brokers. In buying and selling transactions to ensure the rights of dealers and intermediaries. This step comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Justice to reorganize the real estate brokerage profession, and to work in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (22) of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage work, in a way that serves the national economy, developing work mechanisms in the real estate market, and qualifying Qatari office owners and mediators working in the mediation profession. The Ministry notes the need to deal with real estate brokers licensed by the Ministry, in order to avoid legal violations resulting from carrying out mediation without a license. The license for this batch came after completing the regulatory procedures specified in the provisions of the law, which include interviewing applicants for profession work, inspecting their offices, ensuring that they comply with the requirements for practicing the profession, and participating in specialized training courses at the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. The license for the new batch comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Justice to reorganize the real estate brokerage profession, activate regulatory procedures to serve the national economy, develop work mechanisms in the real estate market, qualify those working in the real estate brokerage profession from Qatari office owners and brokers, and maximize the benefit for the benefit of Qatari real estate brokers as partners in real estate investment. It establishes advanced real estate brokerage offices in the region. The Real Estate Brokerage Department receives and sorts applications, and organizes the required training courses in coordination with the Training Department at the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, to ensure that the applicant to practice the profession of real estate mediation meets all the professional and legal requirements to perform his role in this sector in an optimal manner. As part of its plan to train and qualify real estate brokers, the Real Estate Brokerage Department, since the start of the enforcement of the law, has implemented an integrated plan that includes training and qualification, activating the executive procedures of the law, including organizing visits to offices operating in the sector, and nominating applicants to practice the profession for training courses that are subject to licensing controls.
