NATO NATO in the world

NATO countries must increase their military spending by more than 2% of GDP. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

According to the speaker, NATO countries are increasing their indicators too slowly. To date, only 7 out of 30 states have raised the bar. As part of the Vilnius summit in July this year, governments must commit to raising spending above 2% of GDP, Stoltenberg concluded.

Earlier, the secretary general of the alliance said that after Finland joins, the length of NATO’s border with Russia will immediately increase by 1340 km, more than double. Stoltenberg also recalled that President Vladimir Putin launched an armed conflict in Ukraine in order to prevent the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance.
