The Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) filed charges in absentia against the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) Igor Kolesnik. This is stated in a press release following the meeting of TFR President Alexander Bastrykin in Melitopol.
Charges in absentia were also brought against Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Lokota and Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine Andriy Grishchenko.
The press release states that since 2016, when the above-mentioned persons led the military operations, during the conflict in Donbass, the number of civilian casualties exceeded 500 people. At the same time, about a thousand civilians were injured. Investigating authorities are looking for the accused in order to arrest them in the future.
TFR specialists continue to collect data regarding the deployment of positions of Ukrainian militants who shell neighborhoods with civilians from artillery.
In February, Bastrykin said militants in Kiev were beheading dead mercenaries and also chopping off their hands to make them unidentifiable.
