This evening, Qatar National Library hosted the launch ceremony of the book / The Legacy – FIFA,Football,Soccer,Football,Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022 /, which was edited by His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani.

His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library, said in a speech on the occasion: "Hosting this tournament and successfully organizing it will remain an honorable legacy inspiring our children and grandchildren to take pride in their past and plan to build their future in order to make their present a more beautiful reality and an inspiring past in turn for their children and grandchildren.".

His Excellency promised that this book is a praiseworthy cultural initiative that enriches the Arab library and documents this exceptional and unique event experienced by Qatar and the Arab nation. "It was a turning point in improving the world’s view of us and its respect for us as an accomplished nation capable of facing challenges."Noting at the same time that this championship was not just a passing sporting event, but it was a historic turning point for Qatar, for the Arabs, and for all countries seeking to advance human civilization.

The President of Qatar National Library appreciated the initiative of His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al Thani to publish this book, given that it emphasizes the importance of spreading the culture of documentation in our society, and said in this regard: "We need documentation and building a wide archive as well, because historical memory requires the existence of this archive, as through it the individual, as well as institutions, can transform memory into an active force in the present.".

His Excellency added: "What we need today, and in order to invest all these gains, is to document all the events of the World Cup in its sporting, social, economic and cultural aspects, so that it is "World Cup Blog" A source of consideration for generations and a national, Arab and international experience that can be benefited from in the future of international relations. For his part, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saif Al Kuwari, Vice-Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, said in his speech: "The ten years preceding Qatar’s hosting of the first Arab World Cup tournament witnessed profound legal and urban transformations in the country, and we in the National Human Rights Committee were witnesses to these transformations, especially in their aspects related to the maintenance of human rights and workers’ rights.".

He pointed out that the National Human Rights Committee was the watchful eye, monitor and trustee of the human rights situation in the State of Qatar, and issued its annual reports on a regular basis. He congratulated the Vice-Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, the author of the book, on this valuable book, in which he laid out the broad lines to highlight the legacy and impact left by this hosting, calling at the same time scholars and researchers to expand on monitoring these transformations, especially in their legal aspects, and those related to reputation. And the status of the country at the regional or international level.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani – the author of the book – said in his speech to the audience: "In fact, we do not celebrate the launch of a book, but we celebrate the success of the State of Qatar in organizing the first Arab version of the World Cup, as the tournament left us a legacy of pride and a legacy of achievements in all aspects of life.".

His Excellency revealed that a number of ambassadors of the countries whose teams participated in the World Cup contributed to editing the book, and added: "We published quotes for them in which they expressed their impressions and opinions about the tournament, which are opinions and impressions worth contemplating. As for the introduction to the book, it was written by His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Minister of State and President of the Qatar National Library, who wrote an article worth reading and contemplating because it contained a deep insight into the legacy of the World Cup for the State of Qatar.".

His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani thanked Mwani Qatar, the official sponsor of the book, and said that it was "An essential pillar in the country’s success in hosting the World Cup"He also thanked the National Human Rights Committee, which contributed to the formulation and maintenance of human rights "Qatar’s gateway to success in hosting the World Cup".

For his part, Mr. Hamad Ali Al-Ansari, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Mwani Qatar, said: The book documents a success story that will remain a legacy that generations will be proud of throughout the ages, indicating that this exceptional event placed the country in the global spotlight, and showed its infrastructure. , hospitality, and the enormous capabilities it enjoys as a leading country in holding major sporting tournaments and high-level events.

added: "We are proud to be part of this legacy that is presented to the present and future generations to continue efforts to build and shape the legacy of the State of Qatar in the future.", praising the authors of the book for their efforts in documenting the legacy of the tournament and preserving it for future generations. The inauguration ceremony witnessed a dialogue session held in cooperation with the Colleges of Engineering, Arts and Economics at Qatar University, in which Dr. Khaled Kamal Naji, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Jalal Al-Qannas, Associate Professor of the College of Business and Economics, and Dr. Abdel-Muttalib Makki, Assistant Professor of the Department of Media, College of Arts and Sciences, participated.

It is worth noting that the book includes an English translation of 97 pages between its covers, while the Arabic language pages are 135 pages. The book documented the legacy left by the World Cup in a number of sectors, namely: architectural and cultural heritage, economic and tourism heritage, legal legacy: work experience, then cultural and heritage heritage.
