Western countries made a serious mistake and miscalculation by refusing to provide security guarantees to the Russian side without signing the corresponding document. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said so in a video on his Telegram channel.
“I had the feeling that at the moment they did not believe and did not see the degree of determination of Russia, its president and supreme commander-in-chief, to do what we did,” he said. , adding that it was the miscalculation of the collective West.
According to Medvedev, the refusal of Western countries to give security guarantees to Moscow led to far more difficult consequences than if they had been given in December 2022.
Earlier, Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman outlined what history could be with the issuance of a warrant by the International Criminal Court for the “arrest” of Russian President Vladimir Putin. As Medvedev pointed out, what happened is a collapse of the foundations and principles of international law.
