Rospotrebnadzor, after the discovery in the Moscow region, following the Chuvash Republic, of a case of anthrax infection, recalls that this disease is not transmitted from person to person.

It is transmitted by direct contact with infected livestock if microbes cause microtrauma to human skin, as well as by eating undercooked meat products.

In this regard, it is recommended not to buy meat products, animal skins from the hands and in unauthorized places of trade.

Anthrax is a dangerous infectious disease that can infect animals and humans. The disease is manifested by symptoms of intoxication, inflammation of the skin and lymph nodes, swelling of internal organs and the appearance of carbuncles on the surface of the skin.

Earlier, the phthisiatrist of the Moscow health department, Elena Bogorodskaya, debunked the myth of the Mantoux test.
