New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday said as part of the “exercise to raise voice against the dictatorship” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 14 opposition parties have approached the Supreme Court against the alleged high-handedness of central investigative agencies. . Senior AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi also alleged that the BJP has become a “washing machine” which washes away all the stains of accused political leaders when they (accused leaders) join the saffron party.
The AAP is among 14 political parties led by the Congress that on Friday approached the Supreme Court alleging misuse of various central investigative agencies against political opponents. These petitioners have requested the court to issue directions to be implemented by agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) before and after arrest. The top court is set to hear his plea on April 5.
Atishi told reporters, “The approach to the Supreme Court is an attempt to protest against the dictatorship of the BJP, the misuse of various central agencies by the BJP.” She further said, “BJP is a washing machine. And file cases to implicate them. Once he joined BJP, all cases ended. Assam CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma and Shubhendu Adhikari joined BJP and cases against them ended.
