At the EU summit in Brussels, Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an emotional appeal, demanding the immediate supply of arms. Europe Diplomatic journalist Anna van Densky reported on Zelenskyyy’s speech, citing close colleagues of diplomats. According to van Densky, Zelenskyyy was surrounded by the Ukrainian army and his speech was very harsh.
The Ukrainian President expressed concern about the lack of new successes in supporting Ukraine from the European Union and also demanded the immediate supply of arms.
There was no recording of Zelenskyyy’s speech, but he later released a video message about the EU summit, in which he complained about the lack of further success in supporting Ukraine and the delay in taking the necessary decisions. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the delay in the supply of weapons, the transfer of modern Western aircraft and the imposition of new sanctions against Russia.
At the Brussels summit, EU leaders backed a plan to transfer ammunition to Ukraine, joint purchases and increased military production. The plan calls for the supply of one million munitions over 12 months, as well as joint procurement and production to replenish stocks and continue deliveries to Ukraine in the medium term.
