LDPR faction leader Leonid Slutsky called on Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to pay attention to the candidacy of former Smolensk region governor Alexei Ostrovsky, reports Smolnarod.ru.
On Thursday, March 23, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin presented the State Duma with a report on the work of the Russian government in 2022. During the discussion of the document, the name of the former governor of the Smolensk region, Alexei Ostrovsky , was mentioned.
In particular, the leader of the LDPR faction, Leonid Slutsky, positively qualified the politician and spoke about his achievements. In particular, he noted that the region had managed to double the budget. Slutsky suggested that the Prime Minister pay attention to Ostrovsky’s work in his previous position and offer him a new position in government structures.
- I would ask you to pay attention to Alexei Vladimirovich Ostrovsky, who worked without accidents for 11 years as the governor of the Smolensk region. He accepted the region – debts amounted to 113% of his own income and left the region at the age of 45, – noted the parliamentarian.
Previously, the former governor of the Smolensk region, Alexei Ostrovsky, said that he would continue to work in federal structures. The politician made the corresponding statement during the presentation ceremony of the new head of the region, Vasily Anokhin.
