Tomorrow, Saturday, the competitions of the twenty-first edition of the Ramadan Football Championship 2023 will start. Tomorrow, Al-Wajba team will meet with Labsir at eight thirty in the evening, and Umm Baraka with Lekhwiya at nine thirty in the evening for the first group competitions, while the second group competitions will start the day after tomorrow. Sunday, with two confrontations, the first brings together the Police College with Sharq, and the second brings together Al Rayyan with Mars. This year, ten teams will participate in the tournament, which will be divided into two groups. The first group includes Al Wajba, Basir, Locker, Umm Baraka and Lekhwiya, while the second group includes Al Shaqab, Al Rayyan, Sharq, Muraikh and Police College teams. The competition will continue with two matches per day until the closing date of the group stage of the tournament on April 3. The two teams with the first and second positions in each group qualify for the semi-finals scheduled for next April 5, with the final match to be held on the 7th of the same month. It is worth noting that the teams participating in the Al Wajba tournament, which includes a group of the most prominent former players, are keen to prepare well for the championship competitions through daily training and camps, and the use of the technical expertise of the coaches in order to be fully prepared for the great challenge. The tournament organizing committee also took into account the public attendance to follow the matches by equipping the tournament stadium with all amenities for the fans to provide an enjoyable follow-up from the stands. It is noteworthy that the Al-Shaqab team holds the title of the last edition of the tournament after defeating Al-Rayyan team in the final with a penalty shootout with a score of (6-5) after they tied in the regular time without goals.
