Los Angeles: According to the US National Weather Service (NWS), the storm is the worst to hit the Los Angeles area since March 1983. The storm briefly struck an industrial park and warehouse district in the city of Montebello on Wednesday, a news agency reported Thursday, citing NWS Los Angeles. Many buildings, houses and shops were damaged. A tree was uprooted and an electric pole broke due to the explosion of the transformer.

According to NWS Los Angeles, the windows of the cars were shattered. Local officials said one person was injured after the storm hit the city. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, California receives fewer than 10 hurricanes per year on average. Most tornadoes in the state are small and short-lived. Due to heavy rains, snowfall and floods, people in California are facing many problems.
