Pushkov: Washington mocked Russia’s cooperation with China and Iran in vain

– Published on:

Washington laughed in vain at Russia’s cooperation with China and Iran, and now Americans are not laughing anymore, Federation Council member Alexei Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

He recalled the story when, in 1999, Biden said that the representatives of the Russian Federation were “mocking” him, warning against more active development of relations with Beijing if the course of the enlargement of the NATO was maintained. According to Biden, he then “wished success to Moscow” and also advised to consider Iran as a “new friend” if the option with Beijing failed.

“Russia has succeeded with Iran and China. In the United States, this is now called the main challenge for America. They themselves advised – they themselves created such a challenge, ”Pushkov concluded.

Following Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia, which ended this week, documents were signed to expand strategic cooperation between the countries.
