The doctors’ union has announced a total strike in the health system since March 28. The union took this step to force supporters and opponents of judicial reform to come to the negotiating table and find a basis for compromise. “Democratic order and an independent judiciary are the foundations of a normal society and a modern health care system. It’s time to say ‘enough’,” union president Zion Hagai said.

Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog has also spoken out against the government’s planned changes. Netanyahu was supposed to deliver an address to the nation on Monday morning, but his address was postponed indefinitely precisely because of disagreements within the government.
