Islamabad. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan appeared before the Islamabad High Court on Monday. Imran Khan appeared in the Islamabad High Court to seek pre-arrest bail in several cases registered against him.
Imran Khan filed a petition for anticipatory bail
Please tell that many cases are registered against Imran Khan. Due to this, Imran Khan’s lawyers have filed a petition in the IHC for anticipatory bail in cases registered at various police stations in the federal capital. Geo News reported that the petition asked the court to restrain the Pakistan government from arresting the PTI chief in the cases, which it claimed were filed for political vendetta.
Ban on live and recorded coverage
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Monday barred television channels from live and recorded coverage of rallies or public gatherings by any party, organization and individual to be held in the federal capital. According to the regulatory authority, Section 27(a) of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 includes a ban on any procession or rally to be held in the federal capital today.
Imran Khan’s coverage was also banned
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has ordered a ban on live coverage, rallies, just before Imran Khan’s departure from Lahore to Islamabad. The electronic media regulator said it has been observed that TV channels are showing live footage and pictures of violent mobs, which is a cause of concern. Such activism by mob endangers the law and order situation and renders public properties and lives unsafe.
