A member of the Verkhovna Rada’s National Security, Defense and Intelligence Committee, David Arakhamia has authorized the opening of a second front with Belarus if Russian nuclear weapons are deployed there. He said this on the airwaves of the British television channel Sky News.

“If they (the Russian authorities) really take this seriously, I think we will face the real challenge of opening a second front. This is approximately, I think, more than a thousand kilometers… from a potential front with Belarus,” the Ukrainian MP said.

According to him, in this case, Ukraine will have to recruit more people into the army, because the Ukrainian troops will need at least eight brigades to control this front line.

At the same time, Arakhamia noted that currently Ukraine sees only a threat in Russia’s statement about the deployment of its nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus and hopes that this will not happen. will not produce.

Earlier it became known that Russia will deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the deployment of weapons will take place without violating relevant international obligations.
