New Delhi. The month of Ramzan has started and the troubles of the people in Pakistan are not taking the name of abatement. Pakistanis are very troubled by inflation. The situation is that bananas are being available at Rs 500 per dozen. Grapes have reached Rs 1600 per kg. Whereas, dates are available at Rs 1000 per kg. Compared to last year, there has been a huge jump in the prices of fruits and ration.

Inflation during Ramadan in Pakistan is not limited to just one city. Inflation is at its peak in big cities like Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Lahore. Shopkeepers have complained that this time the shopping is very less as compared to the last festival. Due to inflation, people are buying less goods.

The Pakistani government is currently facing a huge economic crisis. Loan from IMF has not yet been received. On the other hand, the government of Shahbaz Sharif is imposing heavy burden of taxes on the people. Apart from this, inflation has also broken the back of the people. From ration to fruits, the prices are also skyrocketing. The inflation rate in Pakistan has reached a 50-year high of 31.5 percent.

Prices of bananas, dates and grapes increased


The condition of inflation on Ramzan is that everything has become expensive. “Everything has become costlier and the prices of dates have also gone up,” Muhammad Ishaq, a local businessman from Karachi, told Arab News. being sold from. At the same time, the price of bananas has reached Rs 500 per dozen. Apart from this, grapes are reaching the customers at 1600 per kg.

Due to the increase in prices, there has been a decline in the sales of fruits as compared to 2022. Sellers have cited import restrictions and destruction of local crops as the main reasons behind this. Last year, from June to October, there was a devastating flood in Pakistan, in which two-thirds of Pakistan was submerged.
