Jaipur: CP Joshi, the newly appointed president of the Rajasthan unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took charge here on Monday and administered the pledge to the workers to overthrow the Congress government in the state. Joshi said he would work with the cooperation of all senior party leaders in the state and ensure that the BJP defeats the ruling Congress in the next assembly elections.

Joshi, who reached Jaipur by road from Delhi, took charge at the party’s state headquarters here on Monday afternoon. After this he addressed the party officials and workers present. Targeting the Congress government in Rajasthan, Joshi said, “We have to throw out the government which cheated the youth, we have to throw out the government which cheated the farmers.”

Referring to the recent hailstorm in several parts of the state, he alleged that the state government has not conducted any girdawari while the affected farmers are shedding tears of murder. He said, “Aap aur hum sab log metalon ka saadhan ka pakadne skarkar.” Assembly elections are due in the state later this year. Referring to this, Joshi said, ‘We will neither sleep nor give sleep for six months. Take a pledge that it will give sleepless nights to the Congress government and the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government with a thumping majority in 2023 (Assembly Elections).

In this connection, he also mentioned the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and removal of most of the provisions of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

After taking charge, Joshi tweeted, “Today I took over as the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan. On this occasion, I resolve that I will always be ready to serve the national interest and the organization. I will be indebted to the love of the top leadership and all the karyakartas throughout my life. Earlier speaking to reporters in Kotputli, Joshi said, ‘We will work as Team Rajasthan. I am a party worker and will work (as state president) with the guidance and support of senior leaders.

“We will become Team Rajasthan and take the party forward,” he said. He termed the Congress government in the state as ‘null and void’. At the same time, party workers welcomed Joshi at many places on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. He also visited the open Hanuman temple in Jaipur. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the party workers regarding the inauguration program of Joshi. Workers from many parts of the state gathered at the state headquarters of the party.
