On the response to a possible nuclear strike
Patrushev called “short-sighted and dangerous nonsense” the opinion of American politicians that Russia will not be able to respond to a preemptive nuclear strike by the United States.
“We can say one thing about that. Russia is patient and does not intimidate anyone with its military advantage. But it has unique modern weapons capable of destroying any adversary, including the United States, in the event of a threat to its existence,” said the head of the Security Council.
He also said that the West “felt euphoria” after the collapse of the USSR, but that Russia “worked through the mistakes” and now “can ensure not only internal stability, but also the security of its people against external threats”.
About NATO and Ukraine
Patrushev once again called NATO a party to the conflict in Ukraine, saying the alliance had turned the country into a “big military camp”. He clarified what he means by supplying weapons and drones to Kiev, providing it with intelligence and training the Ukrainian army.
“In trying to prolong this military confrontation as long as possible, they do not hide their main objective – the defeat of Russia on the battlefield and its subsequent dismemberment,” said the head of the Security Council.
On the confrontation between China and Russia with the United States
The United States “at least since 1945” has been trying to maintain its leading role in the world, leading to “an escalation of tension on a global scale”, Patrushev said. Russia and China prevent them. Russia “pursues an independent policy of strengthening the multipolar world” and “in many respects surpasses America in spiritual, moral and military terms”, while China is the United States’ main economic competitor, Patrushev noted.
According to him, “following Russia’s attempts at ‘repression’, Washington will take over China”.
Patrushev called the United States a “champion of violating state sovereignty” and “the world’s leading dictator.” He also accused the United States of belligerency, ignoring the rights of ordinary Americans, “gross and unlawful hunting of citizens of other countries.”
Commenting on the upcoming ‘democracy summit’, to be held at the initiative of the United States from March 28-30, Patrushev said it would be a ‘parody’ of countries whose sovereignty and democracy have been violated by Washington himself.
“Knowingly, false accusations of war crimes and corruption will be heard from the podium against geopolitical opponents, but, as usual, they will turn a blind eye to real acts of genocide and financial fraud committed with the approval of the White House,” said the Secretary of the Security Council.
About Penalties
Western companies that exited the Russian market were counting on Russia’s collapsing economy and rising protest moods, but “got seriously wrong”, Patrushev said.
According to him, Western countries themselves depend on transnational corporations and global trade chains. Russia, on the other hand, irritates American and European leaders “by its economic independence, its independence in raw materials, its scientific thinking”, noted the head of the Security Council.
“If, for example, sanctions of the same level were imposed against England or France as against our country, these states would quickly descend into chaos,” Patrushev said.
He added that the Russian economy will not be closed to the world and will be “integrated with the economies of sovereign countries concerned with their own prosperity”.
