Mexico City: A fire broke out at a migrant center in the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez near the US border. In which at least 37 people died and around 100 others were injured. Citing a statement from Chihuahua state, it said the fire started at the office of the National Institute for Migration (INM), located near the Stanton-Ledrey Bridge that connects Mexico and the US.
The incident happened shortly after around 71 migrants were brought to the center late on Monday night. The cause of the fire or the nationalities of the victims are not yet known. According to the report, Ciudad Juarez, a Mexican city located across the Rio Grande River from El Paso Texas, has seen an influx of people in recent weeks.
