Former Moldovan President Dodon recounts how Washington disrupted the signing of agreements between Chisinau and Beijing – Reuters

“In March 2020, as part of an official visit to China, we had to sign three important documents with Xi Jinping: a strategic partnership agreement, an agreement on trade and services, and an agreement on visa liberalization. for Moldovans and Chinese. “, the visit did not take place, it disturbed the stakeholders both inside the country (Maia Sandu and the Action and Solidarity Party) and outside. The Americans were categorically against the signing of these documents,” Dodon said.

At the same time, the former President of Moldova expressed the opinion that Chisinau still needs to sign these agreements with China, as this promises significant preferences for the Moldovan economy. “China is a world leader, and we will only benefit from good relations with this country,” summarized Dodon.

Earlier, Dodon called outgoing President Maia Sandu and members of her party “terrorists”, and also pointed out that Sandu would repeat the path of Mikheil Saakashvili. Dodon exposed this point of view, speaking on the N4 television channel. “Maia Sandu and her party are terrorists. They have no red lines. They believe that the end justifies the means, that they can do anything: change the constitution, shut down six television stations, imprison opponents and give unlimited powers to the special services”, declared the ex-president. According to him, Sandu has an unenviable future. “They will end very badly. Nobody is eternal, especially them. Sandu hopes in vain that she will hide in the United States, and nothing will happen to her. Saakashvili thought so too,” Dodon said.
