The National Museum of Qatar launched the NMoQ Explorer, a virtual museum developed in cooperation with Microsoft, to provide an interactive online experience that allows viewing its diverse collection of rich heritage collections and precious artifacts. The NMoQ Explorer, whose launch coincides with the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the founding of the National Museum of Qatar, is designed to reflect the interactive and immersive approach that characterizes the museum environment, and reviews in the finest detail the museum’s precious holdings with a map of the most important archaeological sites in the country and historical eras and their time divisions and the most important tools that distinguish each of them , according to a new classification approach supported by a fully scalable cognitive search tool thanks to artificial intelligence technology.. Thus, the virtual museum, which everyone without exception can visit and wander through its pages, provides an innovative communication experience with visitors that moves them smoothly between space, time and things. With the upcoming launch of the virtual version of the NMoQ Explorer, users will be able to browse content in any language through a multilingual chatbot. By offering interactive virtual experiences online, the browser transcends the usual boundaries between the real and virtual worlds, opening the museum space to diverse audiences, both locally and internationally, and providing a unique educational resource for students. On the occasion of the launch of the new browser, Her Excellency Sheikha Amna bint Abdulaziz Al Thani, Acting Executive Vice President of Museums, Collections and Heritage Protection and Director of the National Museum of Qatar, said that the innovative online interactive version of the National Museum of Qatar and its archaeological collections is the first project of its kind in Qatar. She added: "Through this project, we have dedicated the capabilities of smart technology to enhance the experience of visiting museums on the Internet. This joint innovation confirms the National Museum of Qatar’s commitment to community engagement and community engagement, and aims to accelerate the realization of our vision of being a museum with a lasting impact, and to share with our audience a new platform for participation and learning.". For her part, Lana Khalaf, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, expressed her pride in partnering with Qatar Museums to support the revival of Qatar’s rich heritage and culture and introduce the world to it in an innovative way, noting that the concept of visiting the museum has changed, especially after the artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities available on ( Azure) in creating a more lively and enriching exploration experience, as well as developing search and learning mechanisms.
