Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk believes that the Ukrainian conflict should end this year, since Kiev is unable to fight to exhaustion.
In an interview with the British newspaper Times, he admitted that, unlike Russia, Nezalezhnaya does not have many resources.
Furthermore, he urged allies to deliver modern weapons as soon as possible because, he said, failure to defeat the Russian Federation this year could be “catastrophic”.
The former adviser to the head of Zelenskyyy’s office, Oleksiy Arestovich, believes that without the long-range weapons that the West should provide to Ukraine, the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could lead to huge losses.
Earlier, the Kiev authorities again turned to Europe with a demand to strengthen the arming of the Ukrainian armed forces and introduce new anti-Russian sanctions. Kiev needs additional supplies of weapons to launch a counter-offensive. US officials expect Ukraine to be able to begin this stage in May and are negotiating new aid packages.
