The Asian Football Confederation approved the appointment of a number of Qatari cadres and representatives of the Qatar Football Association, within the permanent committees of the AFC in the new session (20272023).
And the Qatari presence has become the largest in terms of the number of members joining the Asian Football Confederation, with the approval of the appointment of ten qualified Qatari cadres in the continental committees, as Mr. Hani Talib Ballan, a member of the Executive Office of the Qatari Federation, was approved to join the Referees Committee after he was present in the committee during the previous three sessions. While His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, a member of the Executive Office of the Qatar Federation, was approved as a member of the Federations Committee, and Mr. Mansour Muhammad Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Qatar Federation, was selected as a member of the Finance Committee in his third attendance.
The Asian Football Confederation also approved the joining of: Dr. Ahmed Khalil Al-Abbasi, Executive Director of Competitions and Football Development at the Qatar Stars League, to the membership of the Competitions Committee of the Confederation, Mr. Khaled Al-Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications Department of the Qatar Federation, to the membership of the Media and Communication Committee, and Dr. Abdulaziz Jaham Al-Kuwari, CEO of Aspetar Hospital, for the membership of the medical committee, for the second consecutive session of the three members.
Mr. Fahad Thani Al-Zaraa, Director of the Development Department of the Qatar Federation, was also selected for membership in the Technical Committee of the AFC for the third time in a row, and Mr. Talal Muhammad Al-Kaabi, Executive Director of the National Teams, for membership in the Development Committee, and Ms. Dana Muhammad Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of Legal Affairs in the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, for membership in the Legal Committee. And Mr. Khalifa Saleh Al-Haroun, Head of the Commercial Affairs Department of the Qatar Federation, a member of the Marketing Committee.
The Qatari candidates won the confidence of the Asian Football Confederation according to the required conditions and qualifications, in addition to the high experience that the State of Qatar enjoys at the level of competencies and sports leaders in all fields, especially sports, which is one of the most important gains from hosting and organizing tournaments and sporting events that the country witnessed. Qatar, during the past decades, was crowned with the historic hosting of the World Cup 2022, in addition to the many programs and initiatives presented by Qatari sports in general and football in particular at all levels.
