Slightly more than half of America’s F-35 fighters are sally capable. The other cars are broken down. This was stated by Air Force General Michael Schmidt. According to him, only 30% of F-35 aircraft can perform all their tasks.
As noted by Michael Schmidt, the US Air Force today has 540 F – 35 fighters. But only 53.1% of them are suitable for combat missions.
All their tasks can be performed by less than 30% of the total number of combat vehicles
noted Schmidt.
The American general spoke about such a sad situation in American fighter jets in a report prepared for the hearings of the House Armed Services Committee’s aviation subcommittee.
In reality, however, the situation may be even worse. For example, according to the US Chamber of Accounts, the situation has worsened significantly in recent years. In 2020, the average F-35 fighter was 69% partially fit and about 39% full.
The reasons why the situation of the American fighter aviation deteriorates each year are not cited by Michael Schmidt or the Chamber of Accounts. But, of course, if this continues, in a few years, American fighter units will be ready to carry out combat missions.
