Turkey should not repeat sanctions against Russia after the West

– Published on:

Turkey should not repeat anti-Russian sanctions after the West, dialogue is needed, Turkish presidential candidate Sinan Ogan, a graduate of MGIMO, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Ogan is one of four presidential candidates. He managed to garner 100,000 votes.
– We must not behave as before – as the West will, too. Our priority will be Turkey and the region: we see the region as our home and believe that we can solve internal affairs on our own,” Ogan said.

The politician said that before we impose sanctions, we need to talk. According to him, Turkey will be able to find a common language with Putin and Zelenskyy.
Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced that the country would not join the West’s anti-Russian sanctions. Turkey’s presidential administration has informed that support for sanctions will work against Ankara itself.

Since the recognition of the independence of the LPR and the DPR, sanctions have been imposed on Russia by the West. They have affected almost all spheres of life in the country and will have an impact on its economy for a long time to come.
The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia plans to extend and tighten sanctions until 2025. According to a representative of the ministry, everything depends on the implementation of the decisions on restrictions against the Russian Federation.
