The families found out years later when the husband of one of the women decided to take a DNA test. The study showed the absence of his relationship with the child. The woman proved that she did not cheat on her husband and conducted a genetic test, which confirmed the absence of a relationship between the child and the mother.

One of the women divorced her when her husband discovered that the child was not his.

Doctor Lyubov Erofeeva advised in such cases to use foreign experience. According to her, an increase in the birth rate and the workload of health workers could lead to such an error. She added that the head nurse and senior medical staff need to pay attention to this.
