The former White House chief could appear in court as early as next week in an open case involving the Trump Organization’s falsification of financial records. The former US leader is expected to be charged at the meeting, CNN reports, referring to remarks by the lawyer for the 45th US president, Joe Takopin.
“Trump is likely to appear in court early next week,” Trump’s attorney was quoted as saying by CNN.
Earlier, The New York Times (NYT) reported that a New York grand jury voted to indict the former head of state on criminal charges. He thus becomes the first American president to be indicted in court.
