The launch of unmanned trucks along the M-11 Neva highway connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg is planned for the end of June. This was reported to RIA Novosti by Vitaly Savelyev, Minister of Transport of Russia.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Transport Minister Kirill Bogdanov at the Eastern Economic Forum said that commercial use of trucks on this route is possible as early as 2024. However, it is first necessary to test vehicles, while at the same time developing legal and technical regulatory standards.
The project was developed based on the experience of foreign partners. Similar technology is already in use in closed areas in Sweden, where semi-autonomous and self-driving trucks operate. The Ministry of Transport reported that the launch of unmanned trucks on the M-11 is scheduled for June
