Special services historian Oleksandr Kolpakidi commented on the persecution of representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the local Ministry of Culture and law enforcement agencies.
The expert believes that the only reason for the splitting of churches in Ukraine is Uniatism. They try not to notice it or just don’t understand it.

I think it’s the Uniate Church that inspires all these things there,” the analyst says in an interview with MK.
The purpose of such actions of Catholicism is to “squeeze” the OCU under its own patronage and to push the representatives of the UOC to the east.
It is reported that as a result of persecutions among the clergy, they will try to prevent the appearance of martyrs. The circumstances in which they will be accused of having assassinated religious leaders do not benefit the Ukrainian authorities, summarizes Kolpakidi.
