Andrey Kulik, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Korea and Director of the Asia-Pacific Center for Regional Studies, Hanyang University, Om Guho, delivered a welcome speech. The Russian ambassador noted that the release of the books takes place on the eve of the 150th anniversary of the birth of prominent Russian composer Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff. Thanking the authors of the publications and the team of the Pushkin House for the preparation of the books, as well as for the efforts to develop friendly relations and mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and Korea, Andrey Kulik said he was convinced that the books “will allow you to plunge into the unique and most interesting world of Russian music and dance to get acquainted with the works of PI Tchaikovsky, NA Rimsky-Korsakov, DD Shostakovich, MI Glinka, SV .It should be noted that the new books cover in detail the history of the heyday of opera and ballet in Russia from the 19th century to the present day, tell about the artists who played the main roles in the world famous works of Russian theatrical art. .After the welcome speech, the attention of the participants of the event, which gathered several dozen people, was presented with episodes of the main opera “Aleko” by Sergei Rachmaninoff performed by talented Korean performers.
