US President Joe Biden has called on Russian authorities to release Evan Gershkovich, an employee of US newspaper The Wall Street Journal, arrested for spying. With such a statement, the US President made at the White House before his trip to Mississippi.
“Release him,” TASS said, quoting Biden.
Recall that Evan Gershkovich, an American journalist from the Wall Street Journal, was detained in Yekaterinburg. An employee of the publication is suspected of espionage. According to the FSB of the Russian Federation, Gershkovich collected information about one of the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, which contained state secrets. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, noted that an employee of an American newspaper was caught red-handed.
