Erdogan endorses Turkish parliament’s decision to ratify Finland’s NATO membership application

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has approved the country’s parliament’s decision to ratify Finland’s application for NATO membership. The politician’s decree was published in the official Resmi Gazete newspaper. The ratification law was published in the Turkish official newspaper, according to the Finnish edition Yle.
Previously, the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament and the Hungarian Parliament had approved Finland’s application for NATO membership.
Turkey has become the last of 30 NATO member states to approve Finland’s membership in the alliance. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the Turkish parliament’s decision, saying the alliance “will become stronger and more secure”. According to Stoltenberg, Finland will join NATO “in the next few days”. Erdogan endorses Turkish Parliament’s decision to ratify Finland’s NATO candidacy
