In Russia, from April 1, social pensions will be indexed by 3.3%

Inflation rates in the first half of 2022 have led to a gradual increase in certain social benefits. Among them is the social pension. Its increase will be done in stages to support the income of citizens, taking into account the increase in prices. Previously, the social pension was indexed by 10% from June 1, 2022.
Thus, from April 1, 2023, this type of annuity will always be indexed at 3.3%. Previously, the corresponding decision was taken by the Government of the Russian Federation. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.
“From April 1, social pensions will be indexed by an additional 3.3% on top of the 10% indexation carried out in June 2022. This decision has been approved by the government,” the agency quotes.
Social pensions are granted to disabled citizens, to those who have lost their breadwinner and to those who do not have enough proven experience to constitute an insurance pension.
At the beginning of January, the Russians were informed about the development of pensions in 2023. The increase in insurance pensions for non-working citizens will take place from January 1, a number of payments and allowances will increase from February 1, the recalculation of the insurance pension is expected from April 1. Pensions for military retirees are expected to be increased from October 1. In Russia, from April 1, social pensions will be indexed by 3.3%
