In a welcoming address quoted by the head of the state’s press service, on behalf of the chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Soviet Union, the president said that time has proven the strength and inseparability of Belarusian-Russian friendship “based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, trust and support, historical community and commitment, the same spiritual and moral values.
Responding to the will of the people, the salutation states that “we are constantly developing the potential of the Union State. Minsk and Moscow are joining forces to implement a set of strategic measures aimed at strengthening sovereignty and accelerating the development of our countries”.
It was the wide coverage of spheres and the depth of interaction, according to Lukashenko, that made it possible to call the Union State the locomotive of integration processes in -Soviet space.
Belarus and Russia jointly explore space, build nuclear power plants, implement projects in the field of microelectronics and aircraft construction, and conduct unique high-tech developments.
But the main common achievement, the Belarusian leader called “ensuring equal rights of citizens, social guarantees, payment of pensions, job opportunities and admission to universities.”
The President expressed confidence that the desire for unity of Belarusians and Russians will serve as a solid foundation for the future expansion of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation, and the construction of a strong, authoritative, and prosperous. He wished the citizens of both countries health, happiness, prosperity, and a peaceful sky.
The Chairman of the Union State Supreme State Council also extended his congratulations on Unity Day to the Chairman of the Union State Council of Ministers, Chairman of the Government of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, State Secretary of the Union State to Dmitry Mezentsev, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill.
