Researchers and thinkers emphasized the importance of the mosque and its pioneering role in the renaissance of the Islamic nation and its progress in all fields, given its legal, scientific, judicial, social and economic roles.

This came during a symposium held by the Department of Research and Islamic Studies at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, entitled "Cultural incubators: mosques as a model"as part of its cultural project series "Nation Symposium"Where the participants were: Dr. Turki bin Obaid Al-Marri, Professor of Jurisprudence at Qatar University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Majidi, Professor of Interpretation and Qur’anic Sciences at Qatar University, and the preacher Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Nama, an imam and preacher at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

In this context, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al Thani, Director of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said in his opening speech:" This symposium is the third in a series of symposiums of cultural incubators, as mosques are the center of the millstone, the cornerstone of Islamic civilization, the cradle of Islam, and the school of scholars and thinkers over the centuries."Indicating that this symposium aims to study how to restore the role of the mosque as a cultural incubator in society and the nation.

Prof. Dr. Abd al-Salam al-Majidi, Professor of Interpretation and Qur’anic Sciences at Qatar University, started his speech about the mosque as a center of social security and the beating heart of society, as it is a place of direct connection with God Almighty, and in it the immersive tranquility of the soul is achieved, and what indicates the status of the mosque and the greatness of its status is that God Almighty He is the one who favored mosques and desired to build and build them in sense and meaning, and made the origin of their functions his remembrance and the establishment of prayer for him, which are the most important pillars of his worship after the two testimonies that are the origin of his worship and his remembrance, indicating that the mosque is the greatest center for building a righteous person in societies, and the greatest place for various societal activities.

In his speech during the seminar, he said: "The mosque was a place for announcing the general policy of the state, through which international relations were directed towards higher interests, in addition to being a seat for the people of the solution and the contract, and for receiving delegations and negotiations."Pointing to the necessity of linking the major mosques to the headquarters of the state administration, as well as the importance of building them in a decent image that magnifies them within the legal controls.

Al-Majidi pointed out that the mosque is the main educational center and the international university for graduating leaders and reformers, in addition to being a place for greater acquaintance between all groups of society. The imam, the muezzin, and those in charge of serving the mosque, as well as the worshipers, teachers, and guides.

In his speech during the symposium, he stressed the importance of introducing the necessary improvements and facilities in the central mosques, establishing administrative and endowment institutions for each mosque, developing the mosque’s details and area, and distributing floors between mosques, as well as creating what achieves the higher goals of the mosque, such as creating fixed, movable, or Vehicles or conveyors in major mosques, in addition to building, restoring and maintaining mosques.

Al-Majidi called for activating the role of the mosque away from functional monotony, especially since activating the role of mosques is a legal obligation and a national necessity in light of global changes, the dangers of waves of atheism and the legalization of immorality in the world, and in return for them the dangers of extremism and extremism, as well as taking care of diversifying mosques in terms of the huge faith cycle that God grants it to us in Ramadan, so the mosques that intend to complete the Qur’an are determined, taking care to name the mosques according to a culture that knows the symbols and meanings of Islam, and to create special endowments for large mosques and enact organizing laws for that.

In a related context, Dr. Turki bin Obaid Al-Marri, Professor of Fiqh at Qatar University, said:" Culture has incubators that influence the formation and direction of culture, such as religion and its teachings, society and its values, environment and identity, history and its acquisitions, and the present and its achievements. Man interacts with all of these factors and results from this interaction with ideas, values and behaviors that form what has been termed culture."indicating that these original incubators branch out from them, and transmit their messages by educating people with ideas, instilling values and behaviors that guide individuals and influence their interaction with others, including the incubator of the mosque, and the best evidence for that is that the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace – is the first thing he started after His emigration to Medina is to build a mosque.

In his speech during the symposium, he emphasized the status of the mosque and the centrality of its role in the Muslim community, as its function was not limited to performing prayers only, but rather the mosque was an incubator of faith education, and a factory of true manhood, as from its beacon the call to faith and good deeds rises, and in Its iwan rituals and prayers were performed, faith and good deeds were taught from its pulpit, and from it it was called to jihad in the way of God, pointing to what the mosque used to be like an institute to receive knowledge, a judicial council in which disputes were settled, a ruling council in which decrees and decisions were taken, and a shura council. In it, consultations were held with the people of the solution of the contract, and it was also a headquarters for receiving delegations and conducting negotiations, so the mosque, in short, was a mosque for state institutions and facilities.

Al-Marri pointed out that the mosque has its inspiring social message in its meanings and manifestations that are unique in its impact, which neither social research centers nor modern studies have come up with, because it dissolves differences and enhances the spirit of brotherhood, cooperation, sympathy, solidarity and interdependence, as the worshipers stand before God Almighty in close ranks of different colors and races. And their ages and economic conditions, as the impact of this message extends to the values of acquaintance, harmony, and cooperation on righteousness, piety, and solidarity among members of society.

And he said:" The first step towards reviving the role of the mosque in the life of the Muslim community begins with raising awareness of the centrality of this role and its importance in the cultural and value formation of the Muslim."Indicating that we have to think in a way that makes the mosque a center that attracts the various segments of society, and transforms the mosque into an educational, advocacy and educational complex.

In turn, the preacher Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Nama, an imam and preacher at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said:" The mosques are the houses of God Almighty and the most beloved places to Him and the most honorable places on the surface of the earth. God commanded their construction, architecture and preservation, as caring for them is an indication of faith in God and the Last Day, and a statement of the righteousness of the servant in his worship and obedience, and an indication of the validity of his faith".

In his speech during the symposium, he stated that the mosques produced leaders, scholars, politicians and others, which confirms the nation’s connection in its early era with mosques and its impact on society in various fields, pointing out that in mosques the bond of Islamic brotherhood is strengthened, and hands shake hands and bodies touch each other, and hearts unite in prayer and purify themselves. souls.

Al-Nama referred to the great message of the mosque in being a place for performing prayers and a house for useful knowledge, and a center where Muslims meet five times a day and night, indicating that the concern for the message of the mosque is by caring for the basic elements of the mosque, through caring for the mosque externally and internally, and caring for those in charge of it from individuals and groups. .

In his speech during the symposium, he reviewed many activities that contribute to reviving the message of the mosque and strengthening its role in society, including memorizing the Holy Quran, scientific lessons, and a fund dedicated to worshipers’ questions so that they are answered directly or indirectly, and plans for seasonal scientific courses for all segments. In addition to the activities and sermons of faith, and various advocacy activities.
