Nikolai Nikolaevich prepared 9 world champions, 8 European champions

On April 8, the House of Culture of the city of Torzhok will host a jubilee evening dedicated to the 70th birthday of Nikolai Nikolaevich Savin, honored coach of SAMBO of the USSR and Russia. His pupils and students from all over Russia and the CIS countries will come to congratulate the eminent coach on an important date.

Nikolai Nikolaevich Savin was born in Torzhok. After receiving his higher education, he has worked as a sambo coach in his hometown for over 40 years. Over the years, he led sports clubs and schools in Torzhok.

In 2000, under his leadership, an Olympic reserve school for sambo and judo was opened in the municipality. Students of the school, as well as trainers-teachers are regular participants, winners and laureates of All-Russian and international, regional and municipal competitions.

During his work at the school, Nikolai Nikolayevich personally trained 9 world champions, 8 European champions in sambo, 7 people among the students were awarded the title of masters of sports of Russia of international class, 59 became masters of sports of Russia.

Nikolai Savin effectively promotes a healthy lifestyle among his students and residents of the city, leads the Sports Against Drugs, Sports Against Smoking and For a Healthy Lifestyle campaigns, in which adolescents actively participate. The trainer pays particular attention to the moral and patriotic education of young people: he organizes meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and combatants in Afghanistan and the Chechen Republic. He actively participates in the social action of the city and the school.

Nikolai Nikolayevich received the medal of the Order “For services to the Fatherland” II degree, the gratitude of the President of Russia, the signs “For the good of the Tver land” and “For merits in the development of the Tver region “, “Excellent worker in physical culture and sports”, “For merits in the development of physical culture and sports.” He was awarded the titles of Honored Coach of the RSFSR, Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation and Honored Worker of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism of the Tver region.
