On his Telegram channel, the Belarusian president posted an excerpt from his interview on the TV show “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin”, in which he said that he “does not want to talk about Holland at all”. However, he couldn’t resist and said, “He was a random power person. And the French people will give him an assessment.”
The Belarusian leader also explained that Western politicians during the signing of the Minsk agreements on the settlement in the Donbass, in which Hollande also took part, “lied, now they lie, tomorrow they will lie. But then they did everything seriously , now they want to be in trend.
Such a reaction from Lukashenko was provoked by Francois Hollande’s remarks that the Minsk agreements allowed Kiev to strengthen its military power.
In the same “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” television program, Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matvienko recalled that Angela Merkel, who served as German Chancellor from 2005 to 2021, said that “the Minsk agreement of 2014 was an attempt to give Ukraine time “to get stronger. And former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, during a visit to Kiev in January, said the Norman format for negotiations on Ukraine was a “diplomatic imitation”.
“We repeatedly encountered just a lie – they say one thing, they do another, they mean the third,” Matvienko believes. “And these are the confessions: Merkel and Hollande that they deceived us during these 8 years, instead of forcing Ukraine to peace”.
On April 6, Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov (Vovan) and Alexei Stolyarov (Lexus) called former French President Francois Hollande on behalf of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. At the same time, Hollande recognized the European Union and France as full participants in the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, this is denied so that the hostilities do not go beyond the borders of the country.
