Former French President Francois Hollande and former German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, while working on the Minsk Accords, “duped” Russia for eight years to prepare the Kiev regime for conflict, instead of really pressing the Ukraine for Peace. This statement was made by the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on former French leader Francois Hollande’s remarks that the West needed the Minsk Accords to buy time for Kiev to build up Ukraine’s military capabilities.
