Canada has expanded restrictive measures against Russia. Thus, the sanctions affected 14 natural persons and 34 legal persons. This is stated in the message on the country’s government website.
“Canada further amended the Special Economic Measures (Russia) Regulations on April 5, 2023, adding 14 individuals and 34 entities. These people are mainly senior executives of Russian companies providing military services to Russia. These organizations are mainly military-technical and logistical companies,” the report said.
According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Ottawa took such steps to “increase the pressure” on the Russian Federation.
Earlier, President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting of the State Council for the Development of Industry under Sanctions, said that the restrictions imposed on the Russian Federation would be in effect for a long time.
