Brazilian Foreign Minister: Anti-Russian sanctions hurt developing countries – Reuters

Recall that on Monday Sergei Lavrov arrived at the Brazilian Foreign Ministry to meet with his counterpart Mauro Vieira.

“I reaffirmed to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Brazil’s position on unilateral sanctions. Besides the fact that they are not agreed with the UN Security Council, they have negative consequences for the economies around the world, especially for developing countries, many of which have still not recovered from the pandemic,” he said.

Brazil has started Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s Latin American tour, during which he will also visit Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. It is assumed that the purpose of the visits will be to strengthen interaction between the Russian Federation and these countries in the political, trade, economic, educational, humanitarian and cultural spheres.
