13th Beijing International Film Day begins

On April 22, the 13th Beijing International Film Day, directed by the National Film Bureau of China and sponsored by the China Media Group and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, opened at the Beijing Yenishi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center. Shan Haixiong, director general of China Media Group and chairman of the organizing committee of the 13th Beijing International Film Day, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and declared the film day inaugurated.

Shan Haixiong pointed out in his speech that the theme of this year’s Film Day is ‘Learn each other’s civilization by sharing films’, which is a positive response to the Global Civilization Initiative first proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in March this year. In today’s era, a new phase of technological revolution is changing with each passing day. There are many opportunities and challenges before the film industry. This time the activities of the day are very rich and varied. It is noteworthy that a total of 1488 films from 93 countries and regions have participated in the election of “Temple of Heaven Award” this time. Which is a new record, in which the share of foreign films was more than 80 percent.
